Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does a congregation get involved
with Lutherans Invite?
A: The first step is to pray about your congregational outreach.
Is your congregation actively seeking to share the good news of
Jesus Christ outside the walls of your church building? Who is
around your community that might need to hear about God's love but
has not heard it because no one from your community has taken it
upon themselves to speak to them?
The second step is to contact the registrar listed on the contact page of this website. They can tell you everything you need to know about becoming a Lutherans Invite! congregation.
Q: We are a small congregation with
limited resources and are afraid that we don't have enough to be a
part of Lutherans Invite! What can we do to participate in this
ministry?
A: Many congregations -- even the large ones, tend to look into the
resource barrel first and find that there is not enough to do more
than survival-based ministry. This approach, a popular one, is
fraught with problems and has the proverbial cart before the horse.
Resources are a part of the picture, but only after the frame has
been built. We challenge congregations to suspend asking the
resource question until they have engaged the Lutherans Invite!
process a bit. Just do it! Start! You'll be surprised at the
outcome!
Q: What is the Lutherans Invite process?
A: Lutherans Invite starts in consultation with regionally
deployed evangelism strategy support people who know how to help
your congregation get started in friend-to-friend outreach.
These people can meet with you to share the recommended steps for
initiating a Lutherans Invite! program in your church.
Once this consultation has been initiated, your congregational
leadership will be guided through the process of assessing and
identifying your congregational mission field, your congregational
resources and possible third party resources
